Fitness and fun for Crace residents

Crace residents who attended Spring into Fitness at Crace Recreation Park on Sunday 21 September embraced the opportunity to try something new, with lots of kids and adults having a go at Zumba, Disc Golf, Croquet and lots more.
Coerver Coaching ACT attracted plenty of youngsters to their soccer clinics, which focused on ball mastery techniques and drills to improve speed with the ball, while tennis coach Nathan Price helped aspiring young tennis players to refine their techniques  during free tennis sessions.
The Gungahlin Bears bought baseball and t-ball to Crace, and coach Buster was on hand to give encouragement and advice to those having a go at hitting the ball off the tee into a net.
CrossFit Canberra ran an impressive demonstration showing a range of exercises including gymnastics, kettlebell and barbell movements, and exercises using Strongman equipment.
Personal trainer and Crace resident firecracker Shirley Blackmore of FunkShirNal Fitness led a group of young ones  as they showed off their dance moves in a Kids Zumba session. The adults weren’t shy to give Zumba a try either, with a free mini-class led by Kokoloco dance instructor Becky.
Children made the most of the opportunity to have their face painted or hair braided by Emma and Sally from local business MollyCoddle Parties.
A huge thanks to all clubs and businesses who participated, and to everyone who came along to take part in the event. To see more photos from the event, visit the Crace Facebook page.
